Imagine a father who is terrified. His son has not slept a single
minute in four straight days. His mind is racing, his body is exhausted,
and the family is desperate. Unsure of what to do, the father turns to
the only authority he fully trusts: the family priest. He brings his son
to the temple, hoping a spiritual ritual will cure the boy's restless
mind.

This is the moment where things often go wrong, but in this story,
the priest has deep, practical wisdom.

The priest looks at the boy and instantly recognises that this is not
just a spiritual test; a brain that has not slept in four days is
experiencing a severe medical emergency. The priest places a hand on the
boy and says a sincere, calming prayer to comfort the family. But the
moment the prayer ends, he looks at the father and gives a strict
command: *"Take him to the medical college hospital right now,
tonight."*

The father listens. They go to the hospital, the doctors intervene
with actual medicine, and the boy lives.

**The Core Lesson**

The beauty of this story is that the prayer did not try to compete
with the hospital's admission desk. Faith and modern medicine do not
have to be enemies. The prayer provided comfort for the soul, but the
hospital provided the emergency brake the physical brain desperately
needed.

For everyday families, understanding mental health is exactly this.
It is what we call **"knowing which door is on fire."**

You do not need to be a licensed psychologist in your own home, but
you must know how to recognise a true emergency. If you are sad, talking
to a wise elder is wonderful. But if a house is physically burning down,
you do not sit inside and meditate—you run out and call the fire
department. If a brain has not slept in four days, you do not just
pray—you run to the doctor. True wisdom is knowing exactly what kind of
help the moment requires.
